About
Edgebrook Church started in 1887 in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago and moved up to the Edgebrook neighborhood in 1950. We are a part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (see EFCA.org for the statement of faith and for more information).
We exist to be a Biblical community where the gospel of Jesus Christ, transforms lives, renews the city and impacts the world!
Our vision is G-R-O-W-T-H! Spiritual and numerical growth. We have a four step strategy for spiritual growth;
- Gathering- We gather on a regular basis for prayer, singing and Bible study
- Groups- We believe life change is maximized in the context of a small group and thus, our desire is that everyone who calls Edgebrook church their home be in one.
- Gifts- The Bible is clear that every follower of Jesus Christ has a spiritual gift that they need to use for the common good of the church.
- Giving- The Bible is clear that God loves a cheerful giver and thus, we strive to give of our time, talents and treasures to build the church and advance God’s kingdom in Chicagoland!
Lastly, we have a nice mix of people with some of our folks living in the Edgebrook neighborhood and some living in the surrounding suburbs.
